Thredbo Summer Events Guide

What’s On in Thredbo This Summer: Your 2026/27 Guide to Every Event, Month by Month

Your summer base in the mountains

The snow melts, the wildflowers come out, and Thredbo turns into a completely different playground. From 21 November 2026 to 25 April 2027, the village is packed with trail runs, bike races, live music and long, easy days on the hiking trails.

And right in the middle of it all? That’s us.

Boali is a traditional Thredbo lodge, and summer suits us just as well as winter. You’ll wake up to mountain views, head out for the day with a hearty breakfast under your belt, and come home to a proper dinner at the communal table. No hunting for a restaurant booking after a big ride. No wondering where the kids will eat. Just good food, good company and the kind of evening where everyone swaps stories about their day.

Here’s everything happening in Thredbo and around the Snowies this summer, plus a few local tips on making the most of it.

What’s on in Thredbo: summer 2026/27

November: the season opens

Local tip: Opening weekend and UTK fill the village fast. If you’re racing or crewing, lock in your beds early so you’ve got a warm meal and a quiet night before the start.

December: wildflowers and Christmas in the mountains

Local tip: Christmas in the mountains is something else. View Boali’s special offers for Christmas lunch and New Year’s dinner.

January: music, food and the Blues

Local tip: Blues Festival and the Snowies festival weekend are two of the busiest weekends of summer. Book these first – check availability.

February: Cannonball and a full moon

Local tip: February is our favourite kept secret. The school holidays are over, the weather is still warm, and the trails are quieter outside of event times.

March: a busy month on the mountain

Local tip: Easter falls early this year. Spend a morning at the Easter Festival in the village, then take a drive down to Jindabyne for Lake Light Sculpture in the afternoon.

April: autumn colours and the season finale

Local tip: Crisp mornings, golden afternoons and a fire going in the evening. Autumn might be the most underrated time to stay at Boali.

Beyond the events

Some of the best summer days in Thredbo aren’t on any calendar.

  • Hike to the roof of Australia. Ride the Kosciuszko Express chairlift up and walk to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, or take on the Main Range loop if your legs are up for it. Check out some great hikes around Thredbo.
  • Ride the bike park. From gentle flow trails to proper downhill runs, there’s something for every level. Bike hire and lessons are available in the village.
  • Take it slow. Wander the Thredbo Valley Track, cool off in the river, or grab a coffee in the village and watch the riders roll in.
  • Come home to Boali. After a big day out, there’s nothing better than a hot shower, a cold drink on the deck and dinner sorted. Then either retire to the lounge for a drink with friends or a board game with the family. See Boali’s facilities.
